The public is welcome to contact and receive instruction from the professional teaching staff at Sunnyside CC.

Steve Pellegrine has been in the golf business since 1989, working in Texas, Oregon, and California. He loves teaching, playing, and organizing fun events and tournaments. He was the San Joaquin Valley Player of the Year in 2005 and Teacher of the Year in 2013. Steve remains a competitive player, playing in numerous Northern California Professional Golfers Association tournaments throughout the year. He has been married to his wife, Katie, since 2009. They have three children together: Steven, Claire, and Samuel. He loves bringing his kids to Sunnyside CC to hit balls and count squirrels.

Mike Paniccia obtained his PGA classification in 1977 after he completed his professional golfers’ apprenticeship at Sunnyside CC under Steve Menchinella. He has 30 years of experience as a club professional, director of golf, and general manager and is a certified Rules of Golf expert through the United States Golf Association. He is experienced in teaching all golfers, from experienced competitive players to beginners taking their first lesson. He was awarded the Marc Rice Award from the Junior Golf Association of Northern California for his accomplishment in serving the junior golf population. Mike is currently an assistant coach for the Clovis West High School boys’ golf team.

Sunnyside Country Club is fortunate to have LPGA Joan Pitcock as a teaching resource. Joan joined the LPGA in 1988 after earning her Tour card through Q-school. Her playing accolades include winning the 1996 Jamie Farr Kroger Classic and recording low amateur honors at the 1986 US Women’s Open after tying for 14th place. She is a native of Fresno and graduated from Clovis West High School in 1985. She is currently a volunteer assistant coach for the Fresno State women’s golf team.
