Mike Der Manouel, Jr. | President
Michael Der Manouel, Jr. is a Fresno area businessman, and Sunnyside member since 1993.  He joined the Board of directors in 2009, became a Sequoia member shortly thereafter, and served four years as Club Treasurer. Mike loves everything about Sunnyside, the golf course, tradition, membership, and atmosphere at the club.  His top priority as President is to examine and upgrade every area of the Country Club and to make sure Sunnyside's second hundred years are as rich as the first hundred.  He has been married to Melissa for 27 years; they have two children, Grant and Evie. 

Chris Gutilla | Vice President, Management
Chris Gutilla is an Insurance Broker employed by DiBuduo & DeFendis Insurance and has been a Sunnyside member since 1980. He previously served on the Board of Directors for six years. He is married to Jamie and has four children and one grandchild. Chris has been actively involved in the club enjoying the golf, friendships and camaraderie among all members. Currently Chris serves on the Personnel Committee as the chairman and Greens Committee working diligently to ensure Sunnyside is a great experience for all members and guests.  

Frank Lorenzen | Treasurer/Finance
Frank Lorenzen relocated from southern Minnesota to the Fresno area in 2003 to take a job as Vice President of Operations with a Specialty Utility Contractor. Frank and Karen have been married for thirty-three years, they have three children, David, Emily and Hannah and two grandchildren, Zeek and Mya. Frank joined Sunnyside Country Club in 2005, the board of directors in 2009 and became a Sequoia member shortly thereafter.  He has served on the Financial and Personnel Committees and as the Board of Directors Secretary the past three years.  He enjoys the friendly surrounding at Sunnyside Country Club and the commitment of the membership. 

Timothy Schneider | Secretary/Personnel
Timothy G. Schneider is a prominent trucking company owner in the Central Valley. He started his company from the ground up and made it successful. Tim joined Sunnyside in 1987 and began working to improve his golf game. He is now an integral part of the golf team that represents Sunnyside in numerous competitions with other clubs in the Valley. Tim became a Sequoia member in 2009 and continues to support the club financially. When Sunnyside needed experienced leadership, Tim volunteered to serve on the Board beginning in 2010 and continues to serve on the Board today. Tim believes his membership at Sunnyside has played an important part in the growth of his business. Over the years, he and his family have enjoyed the club's many gatherings and social events. 

Jerry Johnson | Greens
Jerry Johnson works as a sales engineer for a large chemical company and has been a Sunnyside member since 1997.  He has served on the Green Committee since 2000. He became a Sequoia member in 2008 and joined the Board of Directors to assume the chair of the Green Committee in 2010. His goal has always been to put the tools in place to make the golf course the best it can be. He has been married to Cammy for 37 years. They have two daughters and one granddaughter. 

Darren Harper | Men’s Captain
Darren was born and raised in Madera, Ca. He attended Fresno State and graduated in 2003 with an Ag Business Degree. Since then he has been in the almond equipment business, currently with Flory Industries. Darren joined Sunnyside in 2008 and loves the course, especially all of the great members. He believes Sunnyside is on the right track to once again be the best club in the Central Valley. In 2015, he married Christine; they have a son Gavin and he has two stepsons, McKay and Garrett. 

Brian Bertelson | Membership
Brian farms citrus, stone fruit and almonds on the east side of the San Joaquin Valley.  He owns and operates Cove Ranch Management which manages farm properties for investor owners.  He was born and raised in the local area and attended Reedley High School (1980), Reedley College and the University of California at Davis.  In addition to serving on the Board at Sunnyside, Brian serves on the Board of Directors of the Western Growers Association. 
Brian lives in the Sunnyside area of Fresno and has two daughters, one son in law and one grandson who enjoys hitting balls on the range with Brian.  Brian has been a member of Sunnyside Country Club since 1997.    

Joe Sciarrone | House Committee Chair
Joe is a local area Real Estate Agent and has been a member of Sunnyside Country Club since 2011 and a Board member since 2014. Joe was born and raised in Virginia and moved to Fresno in 1985. He is the proud father of two sons, Michael, 24, who currently lives in Portland, Oregon, and Spencer, 22, who currently calls San Diego home. When not working, you can find Joe playing golf two or three times a week at Sunnyside, his favorite course in the valley. He loves the camaraderie, special events, and the outstanding dining that Sunnyside has to offer.  

Rick Docker | Past President
Rick Docker is a third generation Fresno attorney who has practiced business law with Fresno’s largest law firm, McCormick, Barstow, for 37 years.  Rick grew up in Sunnyside and spent much of his childhood at Sunnyside Country Club.  He joined the Club in 1980 as a junior member and converted to a full member in 1984.  He joined the Board in 2009, serving as Secretary, Vice President and currently President.  His family has been with Sunnyside since its inception. His great grandfather, T. W. Patterson, was one of the founders of the Club and was a member of its first Board, serving as its first Treasurer.  His father also served on the Board as Secretary.  Rick has been married to Christie for 40 years and they have two adult children who spent many a happy moment at the Club while growing up in Fresno. 

Jim Boone | Long Range Planning
James M. Boone became a junior member at Sunnyside in 1978 and a regular member in 1989.  He joined the Board in 2013.  Jim’s family owns and he operates Fresno’s oldest mechanical and plumbing contractor, New England Sheet Metal.  Jim volunteered his time for eight years as head football coach at San Joaquin Memorial High School, and in 2003, with a great group of kids, led the team to the Valley Championship.  Jim’s love of Sunnyside golf culminated in him winning the Piccadilly ProScratch tournament with his partner Bob Winn.  Jim and Kathy, his wife of 38 years, have two children and three grandchildren and they all enjoy the special family events at Sunnyside.
